Zsa Zsa the English bulldog, whose droopy tongue, protruding teeth and penchant for Slim Jims earned her fleeting moments of fame last month as the victor of the World's Ugliest Dog contest, died on Tuesday.

THE world's ugliest dog has died.

Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, Zsa Zsa's owner, called the dog's death "devastating", as reported by Today, July 11.

On June 23, Zsa Zsa won the World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in the San Francisco Bay Area community of Petaluma, Calif.

Celebrities Are Losing Millions of Followers as Twitter Slashes Fake Accounts
Uhuru, who is the most followed Kenyan on Twitter , had 3,234,935 followers as of July 12 but lost 16,071 of them in the purge. Although losing 2 million followers is undoubtedly a significant drop, proportionally speaking it's not necessarily huge.

Just nine days after receiving her title, nine-year-old Zsa Zsa passed away in her sleep. She said Zsa Zsa had not been having any health issues.

Brainard says Zsa Zsa never really showed much excitement, but that she knew she was special. "We take millions of pictures in my family, so now we have her face everywhere to remind us of her", added Brainard. She was purchased by a rescue group after spending the first five years of her life in a Missouri puppy mill.

The annual competition started out as a parody of the more traditional pure-breed dog contests.
