MLB All-Star Final Vote: Two Days Left To Decide Final Roster Spot

The MLB-All Star game will take place on July 17 at the Nationals Park in Washington D.C. when the American League All-Star Team take on the National League All-Star Team.

Players can choose not to participate in the All-Star game for various reasons, such as if they are injured or pitched in a regular season game in the days before.

The official scorer for the 2018 All-Star Game will be MLB's Washington, DC-based scorer Ben Trittipoe.

The All-Star selection features a great mix of youth, upcoming stars and heavy hitters. Altuve will be just the second Astros player to start four All-Star games, joining Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, who started four straight for the NL squad from 1995-98 (all at second base).

All nine of those players have been All-Stars before.

Fans still have a say in who gets the final roster spot for both the American and National league and there could be some last minute changes on account of injuries or players opting not to play. Bregman will be making his All-Star debut. The 34-year-old Markakis played in 1,928 career Major League Baseball games before earning his first All-Star bid, which is a record.

Five Houston Astros have been named to the American League All-Star roster. The Cubs will have two starters in catcher Willson Contreras and second baseman Javier Baez, with the rest of the starting roster consisting of Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado and San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford. In 44 appearances, the 23-year-old righty has thrown 41.0 innings and sports a 4-1 record with a 2.85 ERA. He struck out 125 during that time, allowing 53 earned runs on 145 hits. It's important to note that he's not Detroit's closer, either, and is instead a setup man. He has 13 holds on the year, just like Jimenez.

The Legends will also have Seuly Matias participating in the highly regarded Futures Game during the All-Star festivities.
