The youngsters and their coach had been stuck in the cave since 23 June, after rising water levels trapped within the Tham Luang Nang Non cave complex in Chiang Rai.

According to the rescue operation chief Narongsak Osottanakorn, the United Nations also dispatched many experienced divers to help.

The effort that swelled and gained momentum after the group was found last Monday involved more than 100 other rescuers inside the cave, 1,000 members of the Thai army and nearly 10,000 others who facilitated everything from rides up to the cave site to meals of fried chicken, eggs and rice and noodle soups for divers, volunteers and journalists.

Today, the four remaining boys were confirmed to have been rescued and were taken to hospital after Reuters reported that those in charge of the rescue mission were "hopeful" all 12 boys plus the coach would be out today. In a drama that has received press coverage across the world, two British cave rescue specialists, workign with Thai military teams, found the 13 on a bank in a partly flooded chamber several kilometers inside the complex on Monday, last week.

"We will look into finding a new opportunity to invite the boys to a Federation Internationale de Football Association event to share with them a moment of communion and celebration", Federation Internationale de Football Association said in a statement.

"All 4 Thai Navy SEALs came out safely", the SEALs posted on Facebook alongside the photo. Another two more boys left the cave complex a short time later followed by the fourth boy. The youngest footballer, an 11-year-old boy, and the coach were in the last batch. But rescue officials were also anxious about dwindling oxygen levels in the cave.

In the past two days, eight boys were rescued and are now in a hospital isolation ward while they are tested for any possible infections. He added that all of them were generally healthy and in good spirits, thanks to their "high immunity" from playing football.

The boys and their coach have now all been taken to hospital after the three-day evacuation that was a battle against heavy, predicted rain.

Thailand cave rescue: how did the boys get out?

Former Chiang Rai provincial governor Narongsak Osatanakorn, who has been managing the rescue efforts, told a rowdy crowd in the city that the success of the mission was attributable to "the power of love". Jedsada said they were uncertain what type of infections the boys could face "because we have never experienced this kind of issue from a deep cave".

The first four boys were rescued Sunday, followed by four more on Monday.

"They are not only the kids of Chiang Rai or the kids of Thailand", she said in English.

Experts have previously weighed in on the Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company CEO's proposed plans, and said Musks' team may not be of much use due to huge numbers of experts already working on the rescue.
