Manchester United return to training before beginning United States tour

Jose Mourinho insists England have reason to be optimistic despite falling agonisingly short of the World Cup final.

Their opponents managed to grab an equaliser in the second half and then soon punished Gareth Southgate's side for losing their moment with a goal in extra-time.

"Fantastic in the air", he told RT during his role as a World Cup pundit.

"Because they were trying to have the soft ball to [Harry] Maguire but in previous matches Maguire was very, very dominant in relation to other opponents and today was not the case".

As the World Cup in Russian Federation nears it's conclusion, Manchester United's pre-season preparations have just kicked off ahead of the International Champions Cup in a fortnight's time.

There is plenty of Manchester United-related gossip doing the rounds in the papers with the Red Devils linked with a whole host of star names.

Jose Mourinho is set to include a number of young players in Manchester United's squad for their preseason tour of the United States after training with the first team at Carrington.

But the talks won't take place until the players return to pre-season training on Monday, the day after the World Cup final.

Croatia absolutely demolished Lionel Messi's Argentina and will feel they're capable of beating any country they come up against.
