Don't look for Lions to take a gamble in National Football League supplemental draft

After much talk and visiting several prospects on their pro days as the Kansas City Chiefs had, they came away from the 2018 National Football League supplemental draft empty-handed.

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, haven't picked in the Supplemental Draft since 1987, when they took Miami defensive tackle Dan Sileo. Washington responded by signing Orlando Scandrick to a two-year deal. Kosar's agent helped engineer a trade of the top Supplemental Draft pick from Buffalo to Cleveland, after which Kosar declared himself eligible. The field is limited to players who are at least three years removed from high school but have lost collegiate eligibility, usually for academic or legal reasons.

Mississippi State safety Brandon Bryant, Oregon State linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu and Grand Valley State running back Martayveus Carter all went undrafted. Given the Chiefs' needs, he believes that the team is in a prime position to take Beal with a potential second round choice.

So, if you bid a third rounder on one of the players, and you get that player, the team loses their 2019 third-round selection.

Teams can submit bids for players in a sort of silent auction.

RUSSIAN OBSESSION: Schumer Says Trump 'SELLING OUT DEMOCRACY' to Putin
As the first day of the summit came to a close, US President Donald Trump's comments dominated headlines in familiar fashion. But "despite differences", he said, alliance members agree "to protect and defend each other".

Three of the five players in the supplemental draft are defensive backs. For example, he made several plays on the ball against Central Michigan, but he also had multiple opportunities to make an interception and he failed to do so. "They were putting so much energy into helping me do good. they got me on the right track because I was definitely heading to destruction".

Beal joins a Giants defense that allowed the second-most passing yards in 2017 (252.4 per game), though NY was 19th in pass defense DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average), per Football Outsiders. Wide receiver Josh Gordon was a second-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2012.

A two-year starter for the Hokies, Alexander has impressive size at 6-2, 195 pounds with long arms (32 1/8 inches). Washington took Virginia Tech DB Adonis Alexander. He was a two-year starter at Western Michigan and finished his college career with 92 tackles and two interceptions - the first against USC and new Jets quarterback Sam Darnold. For a team with answers on both outside roles, the concern is understandable. The team signed Sam Irwin-Hill to serve as a backup punter and since that time, they have kept him on the 90-man roster.

However, like many tough-minded safeties, Bryant can display that reckless missile mentality where he tries to land a big hit but can be inaccurate in doing so.

According to NFL Network's Bucky Brooks, Alexander "smothers receivers at the line of scrimmage with his aggressive shadow technique, while also displaying good instincts and ball skills". The Broncos are in the first tier of teams having finished previous year as the fifth-worst team in the entire league. Alexander gets a round 3/4 grade from me because of his upside, but a 40-yard dash near the 4.60 range hurts.
