U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong-un concluded an extraordinary summit Tuesday with lofty promises by the American president to take care of a "very unsafe problem" and Kim forecasting "major change for the world".

The Royal Plaza on Scotts hotel, jumping onto the Trump-Kim summit bandwagon, gave away 250 special Trump-Kim burgers.

Trump planned to speak to reporters after concluding the summit, the White House said.

The two leaders walked toward each other and shook hands in front of a row of alternating American and North Korean flags after entering the Capella Hotel on Singapore's Sentosa Island.

He described his meeting with Chairman Kim as "honest, direct and productive".

The Republican leader said: "People are going to be very impressed and people are going to be very happy and we are going to take care of a very risky problem for the world".

It's "going to be tremendously successful", Mr. Trump said in introductory comments broadcast live on television.

"It was not easy to get here", he said. "But we overcame all of them, and we are here today".

Tuesday marked the first meeting between a sitting us president and a North Korean leader.

The president was flanked by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chief of Staff John Kelly and National Security Advisor John Bolton.

Entering their meeting, Trump said that he "feels really great".

With Trump, however, Rodman said, things changed because he understood that people of North Korea have a heart and a soul.

Kim said he wanted to express his gratitude to President Trump for making the meeting happen.

Trump arrived at the hotel after issuing a flurry of tweets dismissing skeptics of the meeting between US leaders and the rogue nuclear nation as "haters & losers".

Singapore, the host country of the upcoming U.S. Kudlow's wife, Judy, told the Washington Post that "he's doing fine".

After the summit ended, Trump assessed that Kim had a "great personality" and is 'very smart - good combination'.

The meeting in and of itself is an historic moment, marking the first direct exchange between USA and North Korean leaders since the two nations went to war 58 years ago.

This trip, like the last one, is sponsored by potcoin.com, the crypto-currency provider for the legal marijuana industry, Rodman said on Twitter.

"It is fantastic, it is incredible. when I went back home, I got so many death threats". I couldn't go home. I had to hide out for 30 days. I still kept going back. "I know a lot about airplanes, and it's very expensive", he said.

And, finally, there may be a visit to the White House on the cards.
