A judge had set a deadline of Friday for Cohen's legal team to finish its review of the seized documents.

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who is under investigation for a number of possible crimes ranging from bank fraud to campaign finance violations, is reportedly concerned that he could be arrested any day now, according to friends of Cohen who spoke to Vanity Fair and New York Daily News.

The seizure of those documents led Trump to declare "Attorney-Client privilege is dead!"

Donald Trump's former personal lawyer is expected to cooperate with the Mueller investigation.

Cohen, whose office and home were raided in April, has been represented by Ryan and Todd Harrison of McDermott, Will & Emery LLP. The ABC report has been corroborated by The New York Times and CNN.

"It would be a conflict right now for him to be the president's attorney", Giuliani said on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos".

The seized documents related to several matters, including Trump's payment to porn star Stephanie Clifford, who goes by Stormy Daniels.

It isn't unusual for high-profile figures facing potential criminal charges to look for attorneys who have deep experience in the court where the case is expected to be tried, and a track record of negotiating with local prosecutors.

The switch in legal representation could be a prelude for a deal for Cohen to cooperate with prosecutors, legal analysts said, although the Journal reported that Cohen had not yet made such a decision.

"Not a good look and a disaster for Mr. Cohen and Mr. Trump", he said.
