Suzuki has previewed the all-new Jimny.
To be very exact, Suzuki planned to go up with this mini-SUV in Tokyo Motor Show in 2018 but leaks from some reliable sources pushed them to unveil the photos of this upcoming auto in first place.
As far as the engines are concerned, word on the street is that the Japanese specification of the model will receive a tiny 660cc engine and a bigger 1.5-liter motor.
Details for global models are scarce at the moment, but we do know the Jimny will be offered in two bodies in the Japanese domestic market - the standard "Jimny" and the "Jimny Sierra". No diesel engine is expected as the brand recently confirmed it has pulled all diesel options from its current line-up.
Walt Disney raises bid for Fox assets to $38 per share
Murdoch will keep a few properties, including Fox News, the Fox Sports national cable channels and the Fox broadcasting network. The previous agreement was an all-stock deal, and Comcast's cash offer was seen as a significant enticement.
Other notable features include LED head lamps, cruise control system, 16-inch wheels, fully automatic air conditioning system, and 6 airbags.
While it's still not clear that the Jimny will come to India, we think if priced right, the Jimny will make for a fantastic compact SUV that will find a lot of buyers who want a small yet capable vehicle.
Suzuki gave no details of launch timings for the vehicle for Europe, but reports in the United Kingdom media say the vehicle will be unveiled at the Paris auto show this autumn with sales following soon after. For India though one can expect the 1.0-litre Boosterjet or possibly the new upcoming 1.5-litre petrol that will power the Ciaz and the likes.
Another bone of contention between the two is price. Suzuki also has a 1.4-litre turbo that develops 103kW, but this could be too powerful for the rugged Jimny. The measurements of newly launched Jimny is 3300 mm in length, 1475 mm in width and 1715 mm in height, and Jeep compass 4,395 mm in length, 1818 mm in width and 1640 mm in height.
