Ryan Reynolds dresses as a unicorn for surprise musical performance

John DeFore of The Hollywood Reporter was one critic who argued the second coming of Deadpool is, in many ways, better than his inaugural arrival: "Deadpool 2 is, if less of a surprise than its predecessor, just as amusing; if it's less sexy, that doesn't mean you're not going to get to see the protagonist walking around with no trousers ..."

To look at why Deadpool's future is probably a lonely one, you only have to look at his past. Deadpool 2, however, takes a joke-per-minute stance, where Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth is constantly throwing-out one-liners.

Reynolds also gets a writing credit this time, and it understandable he would take more ownership with this sequel. A smart move overall, then. We wanted to tell a family movie through the prism of a rated-R superhero film and that's what we did. Lighthearted, faux-earnest, and nearly whimsical Marvel Studios romps that all look and play in similar fashion, or the "grim and gritty" aesthetic that Warner Bros. really only embraced for three and a half films (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and a half-aborted Justice League).

But Wolvie wasn't the only X-Man to make an appearance.

Similarly, Vulture damns "Deadpool 2" by saying that while the franchise might score meta-laughs at DC and Marvel Studios's expense, the film is "less a satire" of superhero saturation at the cineplex "than a symptom of it". "The movie's other major weakness is its continued foregrounding of the white guys at the expense of the consciously inclusive cast around them", Rose wrote.

Brolin wasn't too impressed with Ryan's first slam, after the actor called him a "muffin smuggling pirate puncher" at the top of the clip.

Bigger, funnier and filthier than the first film, Deadpool 2 doesn't disappoint, delivering a potent cocktail of action and humour that's shot through with the joyfully irreverent attitude that made the original such a hit.

"I wasn't there when he did that", Beetz recalled of Pitt's inclusion.

Liverpool attacker Salah: I'm not at Messi or Ronaldo level
Barcelona star Lionel Messi says it would be "terrible" to see his friend and former teammate Neymar signing for Real Madrid. I hope I can do so. "They are great players and hopefully I become happy with these comparisons".

"But I do remember hearing on set conversations that Brad Pitt might do it, woaaaaah".

Sure, if we could all afford to have the initials of our family bejewelled onto our clutch bags, then we'd all be the flawless parents, husbands and wives, but there we go. "I saw the movie last week and I was like 'Oh he did it!' So, that was great". (Deadpool shrugs at this premise's staleness by offering a Terminator joke.) Our hero, of course, can't abide the death of a teenager, so he strikes a deal with Cable: If 'Pool can prevent the kid from taking his first life, Cable will back off.

His partner in the disgusting toilet paper conversation he's having before Cable's interruption, meanwhile, could be even more significant...

Often, when I confess my disdain for Deadpool to others, they act as if I just confessed some bad, unforgivable crime. Let's talk about the obvious thing, 'Green Lantern.' End of career, and yet you're still going. Why?

The real difference between two films is the budget.

"I do this bit about it, and I did it for Ryan".

Obviously now this confirms there is a time travel device, although it may have already been shown in Cable scenes from the trailers.

Speaking of Reese, he also has a cameo in the film, playing a news helicopter pilot alongside co-writer Paul Wernick, who appears as a news cameraman. Although the fight sequences in Deadpool 2 are not quite as stunning in their stylization as the surreal John Wick, and there may not be as jaw-dropper of a set-piece as the staircase fight in Atomic Blonde, Leitch keeps everything spatially coherent, breathless and visceral, even when some of the more absurd violence kicks in.
