Man Utd open talks with Chelsea for big Mourinho favourite

It might not save manager Antonio Conte's job but Chelsea can still salvage a disappointing season by winning Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester United, says captain Gary Cahill.

Not many people know more about The FA Cup Final than John Motson - and the legendary commentator believes the Wembley showpiece is still the highlight of the season. "This is like we are going into it to save the season".

"When I was younger I used to get really nervous before games, so much so that you are nearly throwing up", said the defender, who has been with United since 2011. They have a great team and so do we, which is what makes it such a huge game, but we enjoy the big matches and everyone is really looking forward to it.

"I was here when we won the Premier League and League Cup in 2015, but this time I would feel more of a part of it because I've been playing regularly".

That was Common's first ever game in the world famous competition and it turned out to be the skilful Saville's only goal of the Macron Store Southern Combination League club's double-winning season. "Obviously, they finished higher in the league than us this season, so maybe they are favourites, but we read nothing into it".

Moses, who was sent off in the last season's final against Arsenal at Wembley, said he hopes to be the match victor to erase the memory which he described as career worst so far.

In the 2017/18 season, both the teams, Man Utd and Chelsea have met two times.

"We trained well but naturally it was a very relaxed atmosphere, because we'd done all the hard work to win the league".

"Maybe if we'd won comfortably at Newcastle we'd go in with momentum, or maybe we'd go in a bit more relaxed thinking we're in good form". However, he also added that United have a number of risky attacking players that could hurt Chelsea.

His age is also not seen as a huge handicap as Manchester United believe he could be the flawless player to bridge the gap between academy talent Tahith Chong, who the club have huge hopes for.

For United to return to the very top of the English game, this malaise must be shifted. We expect nothing less.
