On her return to Kolkata, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit Jorasanko Thakur Bari.
Following unruly scenes over lack of drinking water at the Visva Bharati premises, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday apologised to the students in his speech during the 49th convocation.
The Prime Minister said, "You all are custodians of a culture that is both ancient and modern".
PM invoked Rabindranath Tagore saying, "It is my privilege that I have got this opportunity to spend time on Rabindranath Tagore's soil".
He further said Gurudev dedicated his entire life to uphold the values of this mantra.
He said, " Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is present with us. In fact, the bard's influence can be felt far and wide and the PM during his trips overseas, has come across many people who remembered when the Nobel laureate had visited their country. "But Bangladesh and India provided the only example of exchanging the enclaves in an atmosphere of brotherhood and festivities", the PM said.

Sabujkali Sen, officiating vice-chancellor of the university, said there were previous instances when the award had been conferred to worldwide dignitaries not at the annual convocation, but during special convocation programmes organised by the university.
"Indians stood by Bangladesh, sheltered 10 million refugees, and provided shelter and training to the freedom fighters", the PM said, as she remembered with reverence the contributions of India and the then Indian PM Indira Gandhi during the Liberation War in 1971. For that, the Government is trying it's level best to meet all the educational requirements.
Sheikh Hasina said Rabindranath nurtured Bangladesh deep in his heart.
While some of the students of the university fell sick due to the unavailability of water at the venue. The outsiders and the local youths have protested against this. However, some of the protestors have been identified and warned by the university officials to leave the convocation ceremony venue.
As per the day's itinerary, the convocation ceremony will be followed by the "informal summit" at 1 pm, after which the two PMs will inaugurate the Bangladesh Bhawan. The topic of Teesta water dispute is expected to arise in the meeting.
