Gaza killings: Turkey invites Pakistan to extraordinary OIC summit

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Palestinian civilians, which led to the martyrdom of more than 52 and the injuries to about 2,000 people during peaceful protests.

The meeting will take place on May 18, government spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag announced.

Serving as the OIC term president, Turkey had initiated an extraordinary summit in Istanbul in December 2017 in a bid to protest the USA decision to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Yildirim noted that Turkey sharply condemns Israel's actions directed against Palestinians.

The country's Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the United States was an accomplice in a crime against humanity.

On Monday, at least 61 Palestinians were martyred near the Gaza border by Israeli army gunfire during protests against the relocation of Washington's Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

He stressed that Turkey, as before, will support Palestine.

Indeed, the OIC is fully prepared to impose such actions: "The OIC decides to pursue all available legal, political, and legislative avenues at the national and worldwide levels to confront and stop the Israeli colonial settlement regime in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and adopt actions to ensure that companies and other actors that choose to benefit from the Israeli colonial regime are deprived of the opportunity of accessing OIC markets".

"Bangladesh reaffirms its position in favour of establishing the State of Palestine on the basis of two-state solution and on the pre- 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital", said the Foreign Ministry here in a statement. Its objective is to safeguard the interests of the Muslim world by promoting peace and global harmony among different peoples of the world.
