Frontier Airlines will soon be offering service to nine new cities from San Antonio.

The low-fare airline already flies from Omaha to Austin, Texas, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando and Philadelphia and is starting a San Francisco flight on June 6.

Air Canada is the third worldwide airline to serve Sacramento, joining Volaris and Aeromexico, each of which offers flights to Mexico. It also means Frontier will become the largest carrier in San Antonio, in regards to destinations served. "It has been the continued support from the airport, local leaders and most importantly the community that allows us to continue to expand our service and make flying affordable", said Richard Oliver, spokesperson for Frontier Airlines.

The new San Antonio flights begin August 12, and operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The airline is kicking off the service with a $59 special introductory one-way fare. For ticket information, visit the airline's website.

Jaffar allegedly wanted to meet with the singer and had previously tried on multiple occasions to get in touch with her. A temporary restraining order was reportedly granted, which will stay in effect until a court hearing in June.

Frontier flies to more than 80 destinations in the United States, Canada, Dominican Republic and Mexico on almost 300 daily flights.

The new San Antonio service starts August 13 and will run Mondays and Fridays only.

A record 848,233 total passengers flew through the global airport during March, according to the most recent aviation report. That was a 10.6 percent increase over the same month in 2017 and represented the highest level of traffic for any month on record (except July 2017).

The committee's study of whether to enhance the current global airport, as well as consider the feasibility of an additional regional airport, began in January, and their findings were expected within six months.
