Dinamo Brest said on its Twitter account that Maradona signed a three-year deal, and will take up the role after the World Cup in Russian Federation ends.

Maradona, who most recently managed UAE second-division side Fujairah, will be taking over football operations.

Maradona was linked initially with a return to the Fujairah hot-seat in a frenzied few days following his departure, but has now made the unlikely move to board level at Brest.

"Yes, Diego is with us", the club tweeted.

One-time Belarusian Premier League winners Dinamo are now eighth in the league and through to the Belarusian Cup final, where they will meet BATE Borisov next weekend.

He added that the change wouldn't stop Chrome from silencing most websites' autoplay videos and audio. In response, Google today removed a part of the feature, delaying its launch until later this year.

Argentina football great Diego Maradona will start his new job at FC Dynamo Brest.

"Diego Maradona will be engaged in issues of strategic development of the club, as well as interacting with all its structural units - including the children's academy".

"I signed the contract and I am the president of Dinamo Brest. Thank you for the confidence and for thinking of me".

The Argentinean will come to work with the club right after the end of the FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation. With him in charge the Brest-based team won the Super Cup and qualified for the final of Belarus' Cup.
