Mr. Kejriwal, in his reply to a notice served by the Delhi Police under CrPC 160, agreed to join the investigation in the alleged assault case. "We were expecting the LG would ask Police Commissioner how innocents were being framed and put behind bars and a detailed probe should be done on Delhi Police, which has unfortunately become the personal cell of BJP where they can frame political opponents, make up stories, file cases and put anyone in prison".

"Due to some prior commitments, I won't be able to join the investigation at 11 am (1100 hrs)".

On Wednesday, the police had sent a notice to Mr Kejriwal asking him to join the investigation on Friday at 1100 hrs in the CS assault case. The questioning will be video recorded by police, the CM won't get its copy, he said.

Reacting sharply to the Delhi police notice, AAP's Delhi unit chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "It is for the first time in India that a chief minister is being examined in a fake case". But the Aam Aadmi Party accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing the Delhi Police to harass Kejriwal, PTI reported.

On February 20, the Delhi Police had filed an FIR against AAP MLA Amanatullah and others, on a complaint by the CS after he was allegedly manhandled during a midnight meeting at Chief Minister's residence, a day before. The report of the DVR is awaited.

The "conspiracy" of assault on Prakash was "hatched" at Kejriwal's residence so it was no surprise that he would be questioned by the police, alleged Vijender Gupta, BJP legislator and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly.
