Deadpool 2's Peter Gets the Fan Poster He Deserves

The tweets are rock-solid, too: Whether marveling at a photo of a winged tiger ("No way it's real") to sharing a disturbingly dubious childhood photo on Santa's knee, Peter (who's played in the movie by Rob Delaney) may just be the comedic yang to Deadpool's Twitter yin.

There are a few more tongue-in-cheek jabs nestled amongst the Easter Eggs in the final Deadpool 2 trailer, including a little dig at Josh Brolin's role in 80's classic, The Goonies.

The unexpected star of the latest Deadpool 2 promo footage was Peter, the kind-hearted guy who just wants a shot at joining X-Force, despite not having any powers like the rest of Deadpool's rough-and-ready team of heroes.

But the final trailer for the upcoming Deadpool 2 gives a glimpse at the fine folks accompanying him on his fourth wall-breaking journey.

This marketing strategy has actually been in the works for about a month now, since Peter W.'s first tweet landed on Twitter on March 24.

It is developed by Capcom and has a number of playable characters in the application that have had appearances in fighting games. Later today the game's soundtrack will also be available to stream online for free via SoundCloud .

Peter's Twitter biography describes Peter as a husband and an experienced apiarist / beekeeper.

There also appears to be evidence of an affair between Peter's wife Susan and her fitness trainer Gus, if you read between the lines.

Directed by David Leitch, "Deadpool 2" will hit the screens on May 18.
