We've just had our first look at the Huawei P20 design

The Pro even won our Phone of the Year 2017 award. Huawei is no stranger to that initiative, and it looks like the P-series is going to get in on the fun, too.

We are nearly certain the Huawei P20 (previously rumored to be called the P11) will be ready to launch on March 27 at an event in Paris, but we've just seen a quick look at the likely design of the phone.

It looks like Huawei is attempting to go with a more sleek design by cutting down the bezels. The display is nearly bezel-less. The prototype didn't turn on so it's not entirely clear just how far the display will stretch. There is no volume button. Full disclosure - we can't really see these photos in the TENAA listing for the phone right now. The volume rocker and the power button are also keeping their place, along with the specific texture of the keys.

The camera section on the P10 is visibly a different colour than the rest of the phone. In the photo the new flagship compares with the model P10, and immediately see that the upcoming device is a much more simplified design of the rear panel - now she looks like everyone else, and it completely lost its uniqueness. This is exclusively an early prototype however, and it's possible that Huawei has changed the design of the phone since creating this prototype.

Another big change is the speaker placement. It's only a prototype so some components appear to be missing.

In addition the prototype has dual speakers, as there is now a speaker grill at the bottom of the handset. There are two speaker grilles, at least, but no confirmation that the design will actually boast a pair of speakers or if it's just an aesthetic decision. We won't know for sure until we receive more information. We have seen various leaks for the P20 with some suggestions of a variant with three rear cameras in the works. However, it's likely that only the rumoured P20 Plus uses three rear cameras. There's no sign of a 3.5mm headphone jack here either.

Smartphone Huawei P20 will become the new flagship of the Chinese And brand, and to its announcement remains little more than a month. The latest report from XDA reveals that on the software side, you can expect Huawei to pack nothing but the latest that Google has to offer. Are you eager to get your hands on a phone with three cameras on the back?
