Many of BB&T's banking services were unavailable early Friday morning, including online banking, mobile banking app and ATMs.

As of 10:30am CT Friday morning, BB&T notified customers all banking services have been restored.

BB&T officials said they were working on the issue and would continue to update customers on Twitter and their website.

Here is the statement the bank released on Friday.

As we shared earlier, the outage you've been experiencing was caused by an equipment malfunction in one of our data centers.

So far this season, Trier has been having a great year, averaging 19 points, while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Arizona has four games remaining in the regular season, including Thursday's matchup against Oregon State.

An outage map showed the biggest impact was focused on Charlotte, Atlanta, the Washington DC area and Philadelphia. The problems were first reported yesterday afternoon.

Obviously, the situation has led to frustration from customers, especially because it's pay day for a lot of them.

The bank said it doesn't believe the problem is related to a cyber-attack. In the meantime, you can use your BB&T debit, credit and prepaid cards as you normally do.

Team Clark will monitor this story and provide you with the latest developments as BB&T works to resolve the issue.
