According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, setting him up to play in his 23rd National Football League season.

Vinatieri has made 111 of 123 of his field goal attempts over the past four seasons.

The 45-year-old Vinatieri is only 58 points shy of passing Morten Andersen for the top spot on the NFL's all-time scoring list.

Prior to signing with the Colts in 2006, Vinatieri spent the first 10 years of his career with the New England Patriots.

Indianapolis could lose another free agent who's likely Canton-bound, 34-year-old RB Frank Gore, but Vinatieri appears set to finish his remarkable career that spans four different USA presidents, five Super Bowls, seven head coaches and 30 postseason games, as a member of the Colts. He connected on game-winning field goals in each of the Patriots' first two Super Bowl wins - in 2001 versus the then-St. Vinatieri has collected at least 100 points in 20 of his 22 seasons in the NFL. His 85.3 percent success rate marked his lowest since 2012, but Vinatieri also hit on five of six kicks from 50-plus yards.
