UEFA on Thursday announced its 2017 Team of the Year.

De Bruyne's sparkling performance for Manchester City earned him a place in the team for the first time.

However, the Spurs and England forward was absent from the 2017 Team of the Year, voted for by football fans and tallied by UEFA. "De Bruyne becomes the first ever Manchester City FC player to have made the XI, while Hazard was in sensational form for Belgium during the European Qualifiers - the 27-year-old scoring six goals in eight games as well as recording five assists", said the UEFA report.
