PUBG Testing Blue Zone Balance, Other Combat Improvements

Though the PUBG Corporation has been trying to keep up with cheaters by using BattlEye and regularly handing out bans, the problem persists.

In a new post to the Steam PUBG Community, PUBG Corporation announced that it has "recently discovered a new pattern of cheats in action". Changes include slightly decreased waiting time of the blue zones during the mid-to-late phases of a match, slightly decreased shrinking speed of the blue zones during the mid-to-late phase, and slightly increased damage per second of the last blue zone. Cheating came up once more, with over 1.5 million accounted bans to their name, while combat issuers and the blue zone also came up. This discovery gave way to a data review of 10 million PUBG players, which in turn led to the identification of more than 100,000 instances of cheating.

"We have identified an issue in our deathcam, replay and observing systems which is related to showing other players as if they are using cheats".

The developer says that all 100,000 of those players will be permanently banned in a single wave. Part of the extra effort entails combing through data logs, and PUBG Corp said it is committed to doing so, even if it means manually sifting through hundreds of billions of data logs.

Jackson said he "found no reason whatsoever to think the President has any issues whatsoever with his thought processes". He gets exercise by playing golf, he said, even though he typically rides around the course in a golf cart.

On top of all that, PUBG Corp is kicking around a new solution to detect and ban even more cheaters, though the developer did not get into specifics.

"We are determined to take strong measures against them going forward", PUBG Corp said.

This is caused by a bug in the killcam/replay system, one that PUBG Corp is working on a fix for.

The Blue Zone changes are the first step to "enhanc [ing] the combat experience in a match". With over three million players daily, it's no surprise that there are a fair few looking for an unfair edge given the game's kill or be killed ethos. Please let us know your feedback on the adjusted blue zone mechanic compared with the current one on the live servers.
