Set for its live debut next week at Detroit, Mini has pulled the sheets off its refreshed 2019 Hardtop (2- and 4-door configurations) and Convertible.
Expanding its scope on the style front, the MINI Yours Customised range offers personalisation options via an online shop, for items such as side scuttles, decorative strips for the interior on the passenger side, LED door sill finishers and LED door projectors. It is a re-interpretation of the existing logo and now features a two-dimensional "flat design". Mini has also added three new colours - Emerald Grey, Starlight Blue and Solaris Orange - to the car's exterior paint palette. "With the option Piano Black Exterior, the surrounds of the headlights, rear lights and radiator grille are finished in high-gloss black instead of chrome".
There's also a new three-spoke steering wheel design, while the 6.5-inch touchscreen is now standard-fit. They join new LED headlights, with optional Matrix beams available. And you'd be right because although Mini chose to launch this vehicle right before winter shows its teeth, it will go on sale in the USA in March 2016, so right at the beginning of cabriolet season. They all share numerous same updated features with things like LED headlights with matrix function for the high beams and LED rear taillights with a Union Jack design.
The new Mini gets new 17-inch light allow wheels as well as three new paint color options
This being Mini, individualization is important, so there's an option to get a soft top with the Union Jack embroidered on it, and another option to get seats that are covered in Malt Brown leather with diamond stitching reminiscent of classic English Chesterfield sofas.
The Mini logo is new along with new body finishes and a piano black exterior color.
The color of the backlighting matches the ambient lighting selected by the driver. However, the changes in the new MINI are only cosmetic and come with the same engine under the hood. The upright light units at the rear now appear in a Union Jack design. It's a quirky, smart design that emphasizes Mini's heritage.
