Google Assistant - the artificial intelligence software that powers Google Home - has expanded to more than 400 million different devices worldwide, according to Scott Huffman, vice president of engineering for Google Assistant.
Google in its announcement said that Assistant will also be coming to more voice-enabled speakers from brands like Altec Lansing, Anker Innovations, Bang & Olufsen, Braven, iHome, JBL, Jensen, LG, Klipsch, Knit Audio, Memorex, RIVA Audio and SoLIS.
The only possible competitor to Alexa at this point is Google Home, but Alexa has a huge lead: over 4,000 devices can now be controlled by Alexa, the company said, while Google's total is around 1,500.
That's what the results of a new survey from NPR and Edison Research confirm, as devices like Amazon's Echo and Google's Home continue to grow in popularity.
