Golden Globes confirm Mrs. Maisel is marvellous

For her role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Rachel Brosnahan, who stars as Mrs. Maisel, won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in Series - Comedy or Musical.

The honours are something of par for the course for the Globes, which has a history of recognising buzzy TV newcomers such as The Crown, Atlanta and Transparent.

"Hollywood Foreign Press, thank you for inviting us to the dance", co-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said during her acceptance speech, before turning to the tireless people that made the show possible.

Coming fresh off their Golden Globes win on Sunday, Amazon announced they will stream the complete series of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for free starting on Friday, January 12th at 12:01 am and ending at 11:59 pm on Monday, January 15th via the Prime Video app, Fire TV, and online. The series also stars Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Zegen, and Marin Hinkle.

Her father, Don Sherman, was a comic from the Bronx who used to work in some of the clubs of the era that inspired the smoky venues that became Midge's stamping grounds. "Back in the 1950s, that voice - not just a Jewish voice but a NY voice - it just felt like the most fun thing we could possibly do". More than half of U.S. Prime members who finished the series binged it within three days, according to the streamer.
