Forza Horizon 3 Now Runs at 4K on Xbox One X

Given how vibrant Forza Horizon 3 is, it's nice that it's finally gotten a 4K upgrade.

If you're just itching to play a Forza game in 4K HDR, you can jump into Forza Motorsport 7 right now, which is already Xbox One X enhanced.

However, while numerous Enhanced game updates were ready around the time of the Xbox One X's launch last November, some developers needed additional time to implement the improvements.

Additionally, 4K resolution enhancements will be fully compatible with both Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels expansions for Forza Horizon 3.

Microsoft's list of Xbox One X enhanced games still lists Forza Horizon 3's update as "coming soon", but players should be seeing it roll out around 1PM EST going by the times that previous updates have released.

Some of these include improved textures on cars, roads and terrain alongside far higher resolutions for shadows and other effects. There is no dynamic scaling or checkerboarding solution included. At launch, Forza Horizon 3 maintained a locked 30fps, but it would have been nice to see an unlocked frame-rate option for Xbox One X owners. Despite the fact that it runs at 30 FPS, the Xbox One X patch is a worthy upgrade over the base experience for the improvement in visuals.
