With the 30 woman Royal Rumble set to headline the show alongside the traditional men's Rumble match, this is a glass-ceiling shattering type show for the WWE. While there have been criticisms of putting together a 30-women match, due to the current roster not having that many female superstars, the announcements of the women coming back to compete in the match lead to much intrigue to watch it.
We'll likely be seeing some combination of both, and word has started to leak about some of the faces from the past that are being set-up for a return.
Packers: McCarthy keeping calm, carrying on
McCarthy said at his season-ending news conference Thursday that Bennett may stay with the team in another capacity. During all five of his seasons as the offensive coordinator , the Packers would finish top 10 in points and yards.
PWInsider are reporting that Molly Holly and Michelle McCool are both in talks with a view to appearing on January 28th.
Holly hasn't worked a match for the WWE since the women's battle royal at WrestleMania 25, and she is now a trainer at Shawn Daivari and Ken Anderson's Academy Wrestling School in Minneapolis. She was Hardcore Champion for a split second at WrestleMania X8, and later held the Women's Title for 301 days across two separate reigns before retiring in 2005. She last wrestled in 2011. McCool even hinted to Charlotte Flair recently on Twitter that she might be up for another match. The show is already starting to look like one of the best Royal Rumble events in history and it seems that it can only get better as more names are announced.
