CHP Arrests 30 for DUI Around Riverside over Weekend

In the CHP's Inland Division, which encompasses the Riverside metro area and all of San Bernardino County, a total 93 DUI arrests were made over the holiday weekend, compared to 57 during the same period a year ago.

Neither of the accidents was believed to involve an impaired driver, a CHP news release stated.

In 2017, deputies responded to 21 fatal collisions that killed 22 people.

About 11 a.m. Friday, Applegate lost control of his 2003 Jeep while driving westbound on Highway 120 and crashed into a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country carrying five people in the eastbound lane, CHP reported.
