Can we just get Mario Maker on Switch now?

At E3 previous year Nintendo confirmed new Metroid Prime and Pokémon games for Switch, but neither is likely to make a 2018 release date given the manner of their announcement and the scope of the games themselves.

Pokken Tournament DX is getting a new DLC Battle Pack, which will be released in two waves. It will be available in one of the two paid DLC packs. The first wave hits January 31 and the second will be released on March 23. All maps, heroes, and DLC will be made available; we're talking content from both the DS and Wii U version, with a total of 29 characters.

It seemed like it was only a matter of time before Nintendo served up another "Mario Tennis" game for its flock - and the timing is just right, especially now that the #Nintendo Switch is shaping up to be the company's most successful console to date [VIDEO]. Players can also play in assist mode, which allows players to tweak the games hard to a slower or faster pace including taking on features such as the inability to take damage. Kirby Star Allies will be released on March 16. By using these abilities in co-op you're able to reach places you'd be unable to get to before.

You can think of Dragon Quest Builders as a story-driven Minecraft with the quirky characters, monsters and excellent music which the Dragon Quest series is renowned for. There will be touch-screen functionality similarly to how the iOS version, though you can still play with a controller.

Other announcements included confirmation that Payday 2 was coming to Switch on February 27th, and free DLC for Super Mario Odyssey launching in February. The update adds a mode called Balloon Mode, which can be activated by finding Luigi in each Kingdom. The free update will also bring three new outfits and many snapshot filters.

Nintendo surprised this morning with the release of a Nintendo Direct mini broadcast. And SNK fans have another crossover to anticipate for the summer, with the SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~ fighting game.

The Tide Pod Challenge has people eating laundry detergent pods for fun
Some even choose to cook the pods, boiling them in water and even placing them on top of pizza. The pods are bright and colorful, causing some children to believe they are candy.

Nintendo Switch is getting Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. While I would love to see both HD remakes come over to the Switch, I'm not entirely confident that we'll see either of them considering just how much of a shift Breath of the Wild represents for the series.

Fe is coming to Switch on February 16th. The Wii U's underratedDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is getting ported to the Switch, out on May 4th.

Luigi won't come as a playable character, however.

Earlier today Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct Mini.

There's also a wealth of Switch games coming in 2018 that are not console-exclusives, so be sure to check out those games as well. The news from this Nintendo Direct Mini may not have been a record-breaker in excitement, but it will at least serve to whet appetites until more news is revealed.
