With the app being one of the most popular apps in the world - boasting over a billion active users - a major Facebook Messenger keyboard bug that makes the utility near-unusable by many iPhone users is a serious concern that has many people quite frustrated with their inability to efficiently send messages.

Just a few days after Facebook announced that its 2018 goal was to make Messenger less clunky, now there's an iPhone bug that makes the app nearly unusable for some people.

Users said on social media said that they could not type in the app, with most saying they could only plug in one word. The problem with the keyboard was only seen in the Messenger app, not on other apps on users' devices.

We've reached out to Facebook for comment on whether the bug will be patched soon. "We are sorry for any inconvenience".

Liverpool seal World Record £75m Virgil Van Dijk Signing
Not each club would be able to do it but a lot of clubs are able to do it and they will do it in the future. Liverpool are back in action on New Year's Day, when the Van Dijk deal will be officially completed.

Many users speculated the problem began when the app autocorrected a word, and was not resolved by a restart or reinstall.

It wasn't immediately clear why this bug was making Facebook Messenger freeze up for no apparent reason.

The company added emoji characters and other elements in 2016 and 2017 to enhance the Messenger user experience but not all have worked out as planned, Marcus says. "Expect to see us invest in massively simplifying and streamlining Messenger this year", Marcus wrote in the post, titled "Six Trends for 2018".

Facebook introduces two new Messenger features: Reactions and Mentions. While we raced to build these new features, the app became too cluttered. "A lot of them have found their product market fit; some haven't".
