Up to 10 members of MS-13 communicated on walkie talkies as they closed in on their victim at a recreational area in Wheaton, Maryland, say officials. The medical examiner determined his "death a homicide from 'sharp force injuries'".
Miguel Angel Lopez-Abrego, 19, was arrested in the death of an unienified man who was found decapitated, and stabbed over a 100 times..
But the suspect has been identified, located and brought to Montgomery County. Officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a statement saying "Miguel Angel Lopez-Abrego, a citizen and national of El Salvador, is illegally in the U.S. and now in immigration proceedings". Before dumping the body into a pre-dug grave, they cut off his head and "excised" his heart from his chest, according to court records.
On Sept. 5, the informant led detectives to the body.

Lopez-Abrego was arrested in Avery County, North Carolina, along with Milton A. Portillo-Rodriguez on November 4.
Investigators are still trying to identify the victim, but he is thought to be a Hispanic male. He has since been charged with first-degree murder and was extradited to Montgomery County, where he faced a bond review Wednesday. He had short, dark brown hair. He had a missing tooth that would have been obvious when he was speaking or smiling.
At the time of the killing, the victim was wearing a gray sweatshirt with "First United Methodist Church Laurel" written on the upper left side.
