This Is How Far Along Kate Middleton's Pregnancy Is

The birth of the third royal child could make history: if it is a boy, he will not displace Charlotte in the line of succession, thanks to a measure that passed just after Will and Kate's 2011 wedding.

Kensington Palace said in a statement: "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child".

The Royal Family, the Twitter handle for Queen Elizabeth, reacted by retweeting Kensington Palace's announcement.

She announced she was expecting her third child in a statement released by Kensington Palace last night, and now Kate Middleton's due date has been revealed. Carole Middleton, Kate's mother, was seen visiting her at the palace, The Sun reported.

So far, the extreme morning sickness is again the reason, leaving Duchess Kate feeling too poorly to carry out her royal engagements. But today, Prince William explained to well-wishers that the future King and Queen of England have actually been a bit too nervous to celebrate themselves.

Prince George is four, while Princess Charlotte is two.

The Duchess of Cambridge has had an "anxious" start to her pregnancy but is well, the Duke of Cambridge has said.

Prince Harry has expressed his delight that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a third child, branding the news "fantastic".

Prince William is the second in line to the British throne, after his father, Prince Charles. And, just a day after the announcement, there is already speculation as to what the new baby will be named.

He said: "The tragedy of Grenfell, and the conclusion of my work as an air ambulance pilot, spurred me into doing what I can do to support you in a practical way".

It comes as Prince George is due to start his first year at school in London this week and following the twentieth anniversary of the death of Princess Diana. Some wondered if it was a hint that she was actually pregnant or merely a joke. "I actually think the opposite!" It's without a doubt though that the entire world will be on royal baby bump watch!
