The new Seat Leon Cupra R is here

Speaking of the new Leon Cupra R, it's a dialed-up version of the already mental Leon Cupra 300. On the subject of the gearstick, it's worth noting the manual version is actually more powerful - buy the DSG automatic, and you'll have to settle for "just" 296bhp. So, not only is the Cupra R one of the most powerful front-wheel drive hatches on the market, it is also SEAT's most powerful road vehicle.

Among other extras, the camber has been modified on the front axle while it also gets adaptive suspension DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) for better body control. As a result, owners of the manual transmission Cupra R will have the ultimate bragging rights for having the "most powerful Seat to date".

You can also expect Brembo brakes for more stopping power and a new exhaust system, which means the new Leon Cupra R has the potential to sound even more lairy.

Brush Fire Threatens Homes In La Tuna Canyon
Firefighters said erratic fire behavior caused by strong, gusting winds made it hard to predict what areas may be at risk. Firefighters sent additional resources to that neighborhood for structure protection and to assist with evacuations.

As this is a limited-run vehicle (just 799 will be built), SEAT has been able to indulge its wilder side with the Leon Cupra R. The first thing to strike you is the amount of orange (SEAT calls it copper) trim present on the auto, from the wing mirror caps and alloy wheels through to the air intake edges and SEAT badge on the front. Meanwhile, redesigned air intakes and front wheel arches give a sportier look.

In addition to the Leon Cupra R, the manufacturer announces that it will present the organization of future Cupra projects in Frankfurt.

Seat has revealed a third-generation Leon Cupra R, ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show later this month. SEAT will offer the Leon Cupra R in two standard colours - Midnight Black and Pyrenees Grey - while there's also the Matte Grey finish sported by the auto seen here, which will incur an extra cost. Inside, the Cupra has also had the copper and carbon-fibre treatment, and a steering wheel specially upholstered in Alcantara, of which there are three colours to choose from; black, grey and the exclusive matte grey.
