Subaru to show performance sedan concept in Tokyo

Subaru will be leveraging next month's Tokyo Motor Show has the venue of choice for a new sedan concept.

The vehicle is the latest in a series of Subaru Viziv concepts that take their name from "vision for innovation".

Subaru love a VIZIV Concept - we've had the VIZIV Concept in 2013 VIZIV 2 Concept in 2014 - and this looks like it's previewing a new WRX, as well as showcasing some autonomous driving technology. These special editions, it appears, are meant exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, but Subaru will have plenty of other things for a worldwide audience to see in Tokyo, and we'll have them all for you here as we get more details. This was a forerunner of the new Ascent 3-Row SUV production model coming next year for American consumers. With the brand's new Subaru Global Platform underpinning the fifth-generation Impreza, it appears that Subaru might finally put its concept into production. Limited to 100 units, the BRZ STI Sport will don unique paintwork and a selection of new suspension components from motorsport subsidiary STI. The automaker only says the study is equipped with advanced driver-assist technology.
