The Fusion can capture 360-degree footage at 5.2K resolution and 30fps or 3K resolution and 60fps.
Waterproof to 33 feet (10 meters), without a housing, the HERO6 can take on a number of challenging scenarios, including a flight on the GoPro Karma. The biggest news out of today's event was the confirmation and release date of GoPro's virtual reality/360-degree camera dubbed the Fusion. "It's never been easier to live it, then share it... using GoPro".
Kellogg taps vitamin executive as next CEO
The Battle Creek-based food maker said its board of directors elected Steven Cahillane to the role, effective October 2. In 1995, Cahillane founded State Street Brewing in Chicago, which he then sold to Coors Distribution two years later.
GoPro has announced its latest flagship action camera, and while it weighs in at £499 and is therefore £100 more expensive than last year's model, it's because it can safely be called the company's most technically advanced yet. But it will supposedly perform better in low light than the Hero 5 Black, too, and offer better image quality in all situations. While some other VR cameras include a version of it, GoPro Fusion will also allow you to have a Timeshift effect that appears to freeze and rotate around the subject area (sort of like the Matrix, but not exactly), and something called Panoview for increased stabilization in a panoramic sweeping motion. GP1 also advances GoPro's capabilities in computer vision and machine learning, enabling HERO6 to analyze visual scenes and sensor data for improved automated QuikStories.
QUIKSTORIESQuikStories is an app feature that makes it easy to share short videos of your adventures. It also adds 5GHz Wi-Fi support, the first (or at least one of the first few) implementations of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard in a camera that I can think of. This means your footage will rapidly transfer from your GoPro to your phone where the GoPro App will automatically create QuikStory videos for you. It's also capable of taking 18 megapixel spherical photos and capturing 360 degree sound. A new feature is an Overcapture option that allows users to select a more limited viewing field for the 360 feed. Most notably, Karma is gaining Global Positioning System tracking for the Karma controller with new "Watch" and "Follow" modes. The Watch auto-shot path will keep Karma hovering in place while it rotates, keeping the Karma Controller in frame wherever it goes. The new Karma is available for purchase now and costs $799 without a camera, or $1,199 when bundled with the new Hero 6.
