Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B) says it is well-positioned because it is the world's only aircraft manufacturer to make commercial planes for all segment sizes of this market.
It said the principal contractors will be Boeing Co., Northrop Grumman Corp., Raytheon Co. and General Electric Co.
Boeing said: "This is the normal course of action for addressing instances where a competitor is selling into the United States market below cost and we will let the process play out".
"The threat facing us, as a result of the ongoing case, is alarming and goes much wider than it may immediately appear".
The firm won an order to supply 125 C-Series passenger jets to USA airline Delta past year.

"Boeing is a big boy - it can take care of its interests by building a better plane at a lesser cost, I don't see why they're turning to their government now".
The company's C Series jets have been at the centre of an ongoing trade battle with United States-based Boeing, which has accused Bombardier of selling the jets to US -based Delta Airlines at an unfairly low price with help from government subsidies in Canada.

The International trade commission that is United States based is set to make a basic ruling in this case in the ending of this month. It has also complained about a £113 million loan ($150 million) from the British government.
"The engagement at governmental level with Boeing and with the US has been significant over the course of the summer because this is pivotal to the Northern Ireland economy", DUP lawmaker Gavin Robinson told the Irish national broadcaster RTE.
Mr Brokenshire insisted on Wednesday that the UK Government was "working tirelessly to safeguard Bombardier's operations and its highly skilled workforce in Belfast".
