To date, in Ontario, there have been seven reported human cases of West Nile virus and 113 positive mosquito pools identified from 21 different health units.

St. Louis seemed to disappear after West Nile became the dominant virus, but it has reappeared in some counties in the last two or three years, Heft said.

Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have now been found in 12 CT communities, from the southwestern corner of the state to towns in north central and far eastern portions of CT, officials said Wednesday.

Starting in June, that state has been testing mosquitoes for not just West Nile, but also Eastern Equine Encephalities, Jamestown Canyon Virus and Zika virus.
